Odometer Shows 22,855 Miles!

This was a revolutionary breakthrough in the 1950's, with several variations being built by various manufacturers in different countries in Europe. This particular Isetta model was refined by BMW of Germany into a more reliable version, compared to others manufactured by the other automotive manufacturers.

It's 298cc BMW single cylinder engine developed an impressive 13 horsepower making speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour possible for a full body car, even if a very small one. The odometer shows 22,855 miles.
The iconic “front door” design made it both a novelty and a very recognizable vehicle. The design was very much ahead of it's time, although it did not find great acceptance here in the US, while achieving moderate popularity in Europe.

This Isetta had an older, frame off, restoration performed by previous owner prior to it traveling to car shows beginning in 1996. The entire frame was stripped, bead blasted, sealed, primed and finish coated. The body was stripped of all paint, repaired & repainted. The suspension was machined and polished. The chassis and suspension were reassembled with modern (1990's) fasteners, bushings and other upgraded components. It has been completely rewired to ensure a safe and sound electrical system from front to rear. All fully chronicled in the accompanying photographic documentation.

Offered at $35,000
