This original surviving GTO was originally purchased on April 25, 1966 from Brown-Russell Pontiac in Amarillo, Texas. The current odometer reads just over 90,200 miles. It has been maintained and cared for by two previous owners who were next door neighbors in Amarillo. The last owner enjoyed this car for the last 16 years, keeping it with his collection of other fine classic automobiles. During that time a few upgrades were performed: an upgraded air conditioning system was installed to replace the inefficient original unit, 14" Rally I wheels were added replacing the original steel wheels, an updated carburetor with electric choke was added, and "Flowmaster" dual exhausts were installed to replace the restrictive stock set up. The balance of the car was preserved in its original form with the exception of an underdash 8-track player installed long ago by the cars original owner. The original lacquer exterior finish has been professionally color sanded and buffed and shows beautifully. The undercarriage and engine bay have been steam cleaned and detailed, and we used great care to preserve the integrity of the original interior. We can't say enough about this remarkable car except that it is one of the nicest unrestored examples we have seen in quite some time...presented in Cameo Ivory with Blue interior.
