This '55 Sedan Delivery was owned by one of our favorite clients who has recently passed away, he and his beautiful resto-mod were popular participants at many local shows and club events and were always well received. The restoration was performed several years ago with updates being performed on an ongoing basis. A GM fuel injected LS2 V8 engine (upgraded with aluminum LS3 heads) was installed and mated to a 4L70E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and fitted with a Ford 9” with 3.70:1 gear ratio. A highly polished aluminum radiator/condenser set up with dual electric fans keeps things running cool, a quick ratio power rack and pinion steering set up ensures proper handling, power front disc brakes assure positive stopping power, and an aluminized dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers provide just the right deep rich tone. In terms of the creature comforts, a Vintage Air Conditioning and Heating system has been installed along with an Ididit tilt steering column, Dakota analog instruments and a back-up camera display has been integrated into the rear view mirror. Custom Ultra Leather covers the front/rear bench seats and all interior panels, and the cargo area floor has been completely padded and carpeted. The custom “Double Nickel” graphics are vinyl and can be removed before delivery if desired. The goal of this build was to combine show car attributes with performance, safety, reliability and utility…this car exemplifies all of that and more.
